The E-Black Chicago Project represents a collaboration between the Northern Illinois University Libraries Digitization Unit and Professor Abdul Alkalimat of the University of Toledo's Department of Sociology.

Its World Wide Web site will present primary sources and interpretive materials shedding light upon African-American life in Chicago, Illinois in the twentieth century. These materials will include personal reminiscences and oral histories, archival materials, photographs and other images, sound and video resources.
